Schedule

The Russian Art Award includes 38 nominations and 37 awards, symbolizing the artist's merits in following the aesthetic ideas of the Great Masters, whose life paths and works expand the horizons of Russian Art and were appreciated all over the world.

The Russian Art Award is a significant prestigious event for all participants, organizers and spectators, as an important phenomenon in the cultural life of the country.

The solemn part of the ceremony with announcing the results of the selection and presenting the deserved awards and prizes will be held in the Exhibition hall "Amber Plaza" (Krasnoproletarskaya str., 36, Moscow) on 29 September - 3 October 2021.

Deadline: the works must be uploaded no later than 13 September 2021.

Exhibition dates: 29 September - 3 October 2021, 11:00- 20:00
Registration for the project: until September 13, 2021
The exhibition of the winners will be presented in the Exhibition hall "Amber Plaza" (Krasnoproletarskaya str., 36, Moscow)

The number of works from one author is not limited.

Official catalogue:
All participants are published in the full-coloured catalogue "Russian Art Award".
Award certificates: All artists receive personal award certificates. The winners receive special awards.

The first stage
A participant registers his work online - "REGISTRATION"

The Organizing Committee confirms the compliance of the nomination and sends a link to the entrance fee payment. After payment an artist sends a receipt to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  and becomes a participant.

See the Participation Fee. All registered works are published in the international catalogue "Russian Art Award".

The second stage
The Advisory Committee, that includes leading art experts, values all the works registered for the competition and determines the finalists and laureates. All works that have scored the highest points or are marked by at least one jury member participate in the final. These works are exposed at the exhibition.

The third stage
All works that have scored highest points are exposed at the exhibition. An award ceremony is held at the final exhibition.

  • a questionnaire of the conference participant (download Word, PDF);
  • labels (for each work of art, in Word, PDF);
  • a photo of the artist (no less than 3х4 cm);
  • photos of art objects in digital form (no less than 200 dpi, no more than 20 Mb);

  • a copy or screenshot of the entrance fee payment.

Pay attention:
The author can submit any number of works to the Russian Art Award. They will be valued separately.
Both single works and series (up to 5 objects) are allowed. The series is rated as one piece.
After the author has sent registration materials to the Organizing Committee, he receives a notification from the administrator, indicating the assigned "Participant Number".

SPECIFICATIONS:

General requirements for the initial submission of works to the competition:
Photos of the works must be at least 200 dpi, at least 600 pixels on the lower side and saved in .JPEG or. JPG, in RGB mode, file size: from 1 to 20 MB. Images may contain only brand names and authorship signatures. Labels for each file and questionnaire are sent as a separate file in Word or PDF.

SUPPLEMENTARY AGREEMENT
Please pay attention that the artists participating in the exhibition are responsible for the expenses in preparing good photographs and sending paper certificates.
Also, please, read "General orders", which regulate the relationship between artists and organizers of the project.

Medal named after Andrei Rublev.
"Spiritual revival of society and high achievements in the visual arts".
Artists who have made a great contribution to the preservation of traditional iconography and temple architecture are awarded for their work and significant contribution to the spiritual art of Russia.
The Andrei Rublev Medal is awarded for many years of work in the field of iconography, temple architecture, teaching activities and research in archaeological disciplines related to the Orthodox Culture of Russia. Artists who chose spiritual revival of society as the topic of their creativity and achieved high results in it are awarded. The artists, who develop with love and awe the canonical traditions of church writing, as well as artists inspired by spiritual ideas, who follow traditions and develop authentic Culture and Art of Russia.
 
Medal named after Kazimir Malevich.
"For search, experiment and innovation in art".
 Artists who give new opportunities to comprehend something familiar or relevant.
A variety of forms, images, techniques, plot surroundings that distinguish Malevich’s work from a number of contemporaries and connect his name with a thirst for search, modernization and refraction of art, “illogism” and protest against traditional art. For enthusiasm and avant-garde, for provocative courage that radically breaks stereotypes. Gold medal named after K. Malevich will be given to artists who bring fresh breath to the familiar art, open up a non-standard reading, come up with their own individual manner, give a new opportunity to comprehend present-day reality.
 
Medal named after Vladimir Tatlin.
"For the ability to think modernly and the courage to realize the most innovative ideas".
Artists are awarded for innovations and aspiration to find harmony in new technologies.
The master of the art experiment, the rebel Vladimir Tatlin, chose the color and spatial composition for the his art language. He was among the leaders of the Russian Vanguard. He went beyond the planar art, worked on the design of theatrical productions, and then became interested in constructivism, created his own style which became a sensation and caused a storm of criticism of the academic school supporters. The leadership did not accept his bold ideas but their elements entered into life.
The Tatlin Medal will be awarded to distinguished artists for their unconventional thinking, discovery of harmony in technologies of painting, graphics, 3D, for innovations and the fusion of arts.
 
Medal named after Arkhip Kuindzhi.
"For poetizing nature, flora and fauna".
Artists are awarded for the masterful representation of landscapes, and for their subtle, lyrical attitude to the world around them.
At the Academy of Arts Kuindzhi met with Ilya Repin, Ivan Kramskoj and other wanderers (Society for Travelling Art Exhibitions). Fascinated by their ideas, in the 1870s, Kuindzhi created the gloomy canvases “Autumn Roadway”, “Forgotten Village”, “Chumatsky Highway in Mariupol”. They became a reflection of the basic artistic principles of the wanderers - to show reality as it is. At the exhibitions the paintings had a great success, after "Autumn thaw" Quingie received the status of classic artist.
 
Medal named after Mikhail Vrubel.
"For understanding the world and internal life".
Artists are awarded for their talent and depth of artistic comprehension in painting, graphic arts, sculpture, decorative and monumental arts.
Mikhail Vrubel, at theurgent request of his father, tried to study at the law faculty, but could not defend his diploma and received a lower degree - a real student. But the inner passion - obsession with drawing - took its toll. He became interested in illustration, met with students of art institutions and soon entered the Academy of Arts. Vrubel was tought by Pavel Chistyakov and watercolourists - by Ilya Repin, who was inspired with icon painting and restoration. Vrubel was deeply interested in the history of art, Byzantine painting and medieval stained glass windows. He worked with Aivazovsky, Shishkin and Repin on illustrating the works of Lermontov. The topic of “Demon” caught the artist’s subtle soul. Vrubel passionately sought for the edges of the other worlds and tried to realize and convey  essence of an earthly and mythical image, spiritual and human at the same time. He formed his own painting style - a filigree mosaic with complex coloristic solutions. He received a gold medal at the World Exhibition in Paris for a tiled fireplace. And he returned to the tragic topic “The Demon” with a painful attempt to capture the depth and to convey the incomprehensible, unreal and intangible, like music to a brush and paint on canvas, to describe the range of emotions, feelings and personal experience vie a wonderful symphony.
 
Medal named after Vasily Surikov.
"For the talent of visualizing historical events".
Artists who have achieved great success in visualizing pages of the great Russian history.
The creativity of an amazing artist - the master of the historical plot - Vasily Surikov was compared by contemporaries to music. His principles of building any plot is based on an accurately adjusted and thought-out composition. He was passionate about painting stories related to Russian history. He carefully thought about the poses, gestures and costumes of each character.Like a true historian the artist revealed in his paintings the origins of tragic contradictions of history, the extra-terrestrial logic of her movement, showed the struggle of historical forces.
 
Medal named after Nikolai Rerich.
"For achievements in philosophical reflection and symbolic understanding of art".
Artists who work in the field of creating works of symbolic and visionary art.
Nikolai Konstantinovich Rerich belongs to the group of outstanding figures of Russian and world culture. An artist, scientist, traveler, public figure, writer, thinker - his great talent is comparable in size except with the titans of the Renaissance. The creative heritage of N.K. Rerich is huge - more than seven thousand paintings are situated all over the world, including countless literary works - books, essays, articles, diaries. He drew up the first international agreement on the protection of cultural values and created the philosophical teaching "Living Ethics," revived ancient Russian crafts and formalized theatrical performances at the Russian seasons of Sergei Djagilev. The paintings of Nikolai Reich are stored in the Russian Museum, the Tretyakov Gallery, the Museum of Art of the Peoples of the East and private collections around the world.
In addition to the topic of Russian olden times, Eastern motifs began to appear in the work of Nikolai Rerich. He studied East philosophy, collected objects of the Japanese art, wrote several sketches about Japan and India, created pictures on the Indian motifs - "Devassari Abunta", "Devassari Abunta with birds", "Kingdom border", "Manu's Wisdom".
 
Medal named after Sergey Konenkov.
"For the talent of feeling shape and material".
Artists are awarded for their talent and poetic reflection of the world in sculpture.
The famous sculptor, artist Konenkov Sergey Timofeevich is one of the brightest representatives of Russian culture. He was a person who managed to revive the images of the Russian fairy tale. Konenkov successfully used tree as the national Russian material in his creations.

Terms of participation in the project
In case of participating in the All-Russian project “Russian Art Award” you hereby agree to the following terms and guarantee to the Organizing Committee (represented by the National Association of Curators and the World Fund of Arts) that all the registration information that you provide is true, and you get acquainted with the following rules:
 
The project purpose:
The Russian Art Award is a sign of respect for high ideals and adherence to great forms in Art. The objectives of the project are to search for new names in art - artists, sculptors, designers, photographers, masters of decorative art, search for artists who work in a special style and who are able to create professional works that can decorate museum spaces and become pearls of art collections. Also, the objective is to search for talented artists, whose works make an outstanding contribution to culture and are united by the concept "Russian Art".
 
 
Nominations and awards:
The All-Russian project "Russian Art Awards" has 38 nominations and 37 awards that symbolize he artist's merits in following the aesthetic ideas of the Great Masters, whose life paths and works expand the horizons of Russian Art and were appreciated all over the world.
 
Right of participation:
The All-Russian project "Russian Art Award" is open to artists aged 18 and older whose works do not break and will not break any applied laws, rules or agreements. Both Russian and foreign citizens can participate in the project. Members of the Organizing Committee and sponsors cannot participate in the competition.

Copyright
All images that you will submit are images of original artworks created independently or are artworks created by an artist who empowered you to submit images for and on his / her behalf. The images presented by you do not violate the rights of privacy, publicity, copyrights or other intellectual property rights of any natural or legal person. You cannot create, distribute or reproduce in any way any copyrighted material, trademarks or other private information without the prior written consent of the owner. In accordance with this, the Organizing Committee has the right to discontinue all relations with any artist who violates copyright if a breach of copyright notification is received from the copyright owner or the lawyer of the copyright owner.

The artwork matter
You agree that the artwork that you upload will not include pornographic, sexually explicit, violent or racist material.

The Advisory Committee
The Advisory Committee values the submitted works in a "blind" form, individually, without meeting with colleagues. The points received from the jury will be averaged to get one point for each competition work.
Works are valued by representatives of the following professional groups:
1) Creative Professionals:
а) artists, photographers, designers and craftsmen awarded with various state awards and titles, including Honored Artists of Russia and Folk Artists of Russia;
b) well-known artists and masters who have achieved great public and commercial recognition in their professional careers, regular participants in Russian and foreign exhibitions and fairs;
2) Professionals of Popularization:
а) art historians and art critics, whose area of interest is contemporary art;
b) mass media representatives who write about various aspects of the World of Art;
3) Business Professionals:
а) gallery managers and gallery owners;
b) producers, patrons and sponsors of art projects;
c) top managers of online stores;
4) Professional teachers:
а) pedagogues of departments and faculties of educational institutions who teach specialists in the field of art education;
b) heads of educational institutions;

Stages of participation
The All-Russian project "Russian Art Awards" is held in two stages:
1st Stage (online): an artist submits his/her works to the Organizing Committee in digital form. The claimed works are valued by members of The Advisory Committee according to the photo galleries presented on the site. All competition works are available at www.artaward.info 
2nd Stage (offline): works with the highest points in each of the announced "Nominations" are placed at the exhibition.

Catalogue
All works submitted for the competition are published in the coloured catalog "Russian Art Award".
Catalogue structure: the catalogue consists of two sections, in the first section there are the laureates, in the second - all project participants.

Use of images
We will be entitled to publish on our websites images of artworks selected by the Advisory Committee, in catalogues (printed and online) and other advertising channels to promote future contests and your artworks.

Saving Images
By uploading your artwork, you empower us to save images of such a uploaded artwork in our system until the end of the competition. You also authorize us to save such images after the end of the contest. We save these images so that you can easily submit them to other contests in the future. At any time, after the completion, you can send us an email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and request that we delete such images. We will confirm receipt of the letter and your images will be deleted during10 business days after you receive our confirmation.

Confirmations and awards
The completion of the project is the announcement of winners by each nomination and laureates by each award. All participants receive certificates (the number of certificates corresponds to the number of works registered for the contest).
Winners receive award certificates. For laureates, medals on a plaque are provided.
The Organizing Committee sends certificates in digital form, and by individual application to the Organizing Committee - by mail. If an artist wants the Organizing Committee to send a notification letter, then for this it is necessary to make a request to the Organizing Committee and pay expeses (a track will be sent to control the sending of the letter).

Signs and Signatures
Signature, seal or any other identification mark of authorship is allowed anywhere in the photo image. Subsequently, competition images are published with copyright decals. Inscriptions with the names of art objects on the front side are not allowed.

Author's consent to the processing of personal data and newsletter
By participating in the competition, an artist gives a consent to the processing of personal data by the Organizing Committee and to the free newsletters informing by telephone or email about exhibitions organized by the National Association of Curators / World Fund of Arts / NextArt Co Ltd / NextArt Co Ltd / NextArt Global Art Agency, conferences and contests in Russia and abroad.

In each nomination, according to the results of the voting, the artists, whose works were given the highest points, will be selected.
All artists who reach the final will be awarded and it can show the individual merits and achievements of each artist and the work he/she created.


The Russian Art Award is a significant prestigious event for all participants, organizers and spectators, as an important phenomenon in the cultural life of the country.

The ceremonial part of the results announcement and the presentation of well-deserved awards will be held in the Congress Hall "Amber Plaza" on 24-29 November 2020.
