"For poetizing nature, flora and fauna".

Artists are awarded for the masterful representation of landscapes, and for their subtle, lyrical attitude to the world around them.

At the Academy of Arts Kuindzhi met Ilya Repin, Ivan Kramskoj and other wanderers (Society for Travelling Art Exhibitions). Fascinated by their ideas, in the 1870s, Kuindzhi created the gloomy canvases “Autumn Roadway”, “Forgotten Village”, “Chumatsky Highway in Mariupol”. They became a reflection of the basic artistic principles of the wanderers - to show reality as it is. At the exhibitions the paintings had a great success, after "Autumn thaw" Quingie received the status of classic artist.
